Abstract

Abstract:Taking into account the evolution of trends in contemporary social theory, there is evidence of a growing interest in the study of the individual in the understanding of social phenomena for the analysis of contemporary society through classic authors such as Max Weber and Georg Simmel. Therefore, we analyze the consequences derived from the Industrial Revolution, where the need for a science that studies the actions of individuals arises, because, after the Industrial Revolution, a European spirit is established and the way of thinking about the world changes. The data for this research were obtained through a bibliographic review, which involves the analysis of secondary data such as periodicals, books and articles. Research shows that after revolutions, globalization intensifies, capitalism is established and changes occur in the political and religious spheres. Catholicism does not exert as much influence in society, due to the introduction of rationalist thinking. With this, the category of rationalization in Weber's studies is evident, and how work has undergone changes, due to the transition from traditional to contemporary capitalism.
