Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is 1,5-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Araticum magazine publishes texts by authors with a minimum degree of master, provided it is signed with a doctor coauthor. When submitting their texts for evaluation, the authors automatically declare that the texts are original and are not being evaluated for publication in other journals.

Scientific texts, in the form of essays / articles, must contain a maximum of 15 pages, including notes and references, subject to the following rules:

1. A4 paper, top and left margins of 3cm; bottom and right with 2.5cm. Arial font, size 12, 1.5 line spacing.

2. Quotations up to 3 lines will be quoted in the text itself. When the author is first mentioned, give the full name; from the second time onwards, only refer to last name in capital letters. At the end of the citation, insert footnote and, at the bottom of the page, inform the author's last name, year of publication and referred page. Ex. OLIVA, 2008, p. 70

3. Quotations longer than 03 lines should be indented with 4 cm tab, font 11, single space. At the end of the citation, insert footnote and, at the bottom of the page, inform the author's last name, year of publication and referred page. Ex. DUARTE, 2001, p. 26

4. Full references will be informed at the end of the text, in the following format: author's last name in capital letters, author's name with initial capital letter, title of the consulted paper, city, publisher, year of publication. Ex: MUZART, Zahidé Lupinaci. (Org.) Redoing Us - Essays on Woman and Literature. Santa Cruz do Sul: UNISC / Women Publisher, 2003.

5. At the beginning of the text, title in upper case, centered and, under the title, name of the author (also present title in English). With two tab entries, submit a summary in Portuguese language and another equivalent in English language, up to 10 lines; up to 05 keywords under the same conditions. And at the end of the text, an abbreviated resume of at most 10 lines of the author (s).

6. The journal publishes texts in Portuguese. Papers in other languages ​​may be submitted for evaluation and, if approved, will be published by the authors.

7. The authors declare that the texts submitted for publication are original and are entirely responsible for their content in case of challenge by third parties. They also declare that there is no conflict of interest regarding the published work.

8. The authors declare to have actively participated in the results, as well as the review and approval of the final version of the paper presented.

Guidelines for authors

 

Araticum Journal only publishes papers by authors with a doctor’s degree and by Masters or  PhD students with doctor's degree authors. Papers must be submitted on the understanding that they have not been published elsewhere and are not currently under consideration by another journal.

 

The scientific texts, in the form of papers/essays must have a maximum of 15 pages, including notes and references, observing the following rules:

 

1. A4 paper, 3cm top and left margins; bottom and right margins with 2.5cm. Arial font, size 12, 1.5 line spacing.

 

2. Quotations up to 3 lines will be embedded in the text and be enclosed in double quotation marks. When the author is first referred, inform full name; from the second time on, only mention the last name in uppercase letters. At the end of the quotation, insert a footnote and, at the bottom of the page, inform the author's last name, year of publication and the referred page. E.g.: OLIVA, 2008, p. 70.

 

3.Quotations of more than 3 lines should be indented 4 cm from the left margin, font size 11, in single space. At the end of the quotation, insert a footnote and, at the bottom of the page, inform the author's last name, year of publication and the referred page.E.g.: DUARTE, 2001, p. 26.

 

4. The complete references will be informed at the end of the paper, in the following format: author’s last name in uppercase letters, first letter of the author’s name in uppercase letter, title of the consulted work, city, publisher, year of publication. E.g.: MUZART, Zahidé Lupinaci. (Org.) Refazendo nós – Ensaios sobre mulher e literatura. Santa Cruz do Sul: UNISC/Editora Mulheres, 2003.

 

5. The title must be typed at the top of the page in uppercase letters, centered on the page. Below the title, inform the author’s name (also inform tittle in English). Insert two blank spaces (two tab enters) and present an abstract in Portuguese and its equivalent in English, not exceeding 10 lines.  Inform up to 5 keywords under the same conditions. At the end of the text, inform the author’s abbreviated curriculum, having no more than 10 lines.

 

6. The journal publishes papers in Portuguese. Papers in other languages can be submitted for evaluation, and in case of being approved, the author(s) should have it translated before being published.

 

7. The submitting author(s) is responsible for ensuring that the article is original, and is entirely responsible for its content in case of impugnation by third parties. The author(s) also declares there is no conflict of interest regarding the publication of the paper.

 

8. The author(s) declares that he/she participated actively in the results, as well as the review and approval of the final version of the submitted paper.
