NOMADISM, SUBJECTIVITY AND INTERSUBJECTIVITY IN FLORES ARTIFICIAIS, BY LUIZ RUFFATO

Abstract

In Flores artificiais (2014), Luiz Ruffato explores the contradictory meanings of migration in the current context of the globalized world, revealing, in the interstices of various displacements, furtive encounters and fragile affective ties experienced by the characters, the depersonalization and the uprooting as signs of the subject condition in the contemporaneity. The book promotes a kind of "game of surfaces", showing, through the narrator-character, Dório Fineto, the constitution of an empty subject of his own stories, while saturated with stories of others. Based on theoretical approaches by authors such as Michel Maffesoli, Marc Augé, Walter Benjamin and Zygmunt Bauman, we have developed, in this article, an analysis of Ruffato's book, considering it as a series of representative signs of this crisis of the subject in the contemporaneity.
