Abstract

The increase in academic production in the Social Sciences and related fields on race and racism in Brazil in recent years demonstrates the consolidation of a field of research and academic debate relevant in social, cultural and political terms. As a consequence of this process of evolution in the field, we highlight the growth in the volume of published articles that discuss, in an analytical way, on aspects related to ethnic-racial inequalities and discrimination through constant and critical dialogue with national and international theoretical approaches that address the theme .

PhD in Sociology at IUPERJ, adjunct professor at the Institute of Social Sciences and associate professor at the Graduate Program in Social Sciences (PPCIS) at UERJ, Brazil. He is also the coordinator of the Laboratory for the Analysis of Violence (LAV-UERJ) and a researcher for QUANTIDADOS: Research and Data Analysis and the Center for Gender Inequality Studies (NUDERG-UERJ).
