Abstract

The text is an essay, presenting a memorial account of the author - it is not a biography - with testimony, reflections and positions of my experience with Leonel Brizola. Writing, therefore, does not follow the analytical and methodological rigor of a scientific article, but the subjective, impersonal and even affective aspect prevails. The essay aims to help readers better understand Leonel Brizola from the perspective of an academic, journalist who lived with the Statesman and became his friend and admirer.
