Peer Review Process
The evaluations will follow the ethics of double-blind evaluation.
After going through the journal's Editorial Committee - responsible for checking that the standards required by the "Guidelines for Authors" section are met -, the articles are sent anonymously to two referees, who are specialists in the subject area of the article, for a careful evaluation of its quality. In case of divergence of opinions, the article will be sent to a third specialist. Papers that are recommended for publication with content review will be sent back to two referees, preferably the same ones from the initial process.
The Editorial Committee of Caminhos da História, responsible for a particular number of the journal, is responsible for the final approval of the article, which has been conditionally approved in the double-blind process, for publication. The Editorial Committee also has the right to make minor changes to the final text, tables and figures, in order to meet the editorial criteria of the journal, which follow the ABNT rules.
The period between submission, search for referees, evaluation of the article and return to the author can last up to 6 months.
The authors must commit themselves to not send an article under evaluation to another journals for at least three months after submission. The withdrawal of the submission after this deadline must be registered with notification to the journal editor.
The acceptance of the submission of a manuscript depends on the evaluation of the fulfilment of the formatting requirements and, mainly, on the initial analysis of the Editorial Committee on the adherence of the manuscript to the scope of the journal.
