Author Guidelines

Guidelines for Authors

  1. Presentation

Caminhos da História is a biannual publication based at the Graduate Program in History (PPGH) of the State University of Montes Claros (Unimontes).

  1. Editorial policy

2.1. Minimum degree for publication

complete master's degree is the minimum degree required for authors.

Exceptionally, collaborations sent by master's students will be accepted (when co-authored with masters or doctors). In addition to works in Portuguese, the journal also accepts contributions in English and Spanish.

The journal receives only texts from a maximum of 2 co-authors.

2.2. Types of published materials

It accepts unpublished works in the form of articles, essays and book reviews in History. The Journal is open to contributions from other areas of knowledge, as long as the submitted articles have explicit links with the field of History.

Papers can be submitted in Portuguese, Spanish or English, as long as they are originals.

2.3. Evaluation of the received materials

The decision on publication is the responsibility of the Editorial Committee, which preliminarily rejects works that do not fit into the scope and standards of the journal. Those who meet the journal’s requirements will be sent to external reviewers, following the blind review system, in which the identities of the author and the reviewers are mutually omitted.

The referees may indicate:

  1. a) the publication of the work in its current form;
  2. b) the publication with suggested modifications;
  3. c) the resubmission of the work for a new evaluation after making substantial changes, or
  4. d) refusal of publication.

Additions or modifications will not be allowed after the works are delivered for publication.

2.4. Copyright rights and liability

With the submission of their work, authors must fully assign their copyright to Caminhos da História. The journal is not obliged to return to the author the received original material. The statements and concepts issued in the signed work are the responsibility of the authors.

  1. Submission of papers
