Abstract

The revision of the cultural horizons of historiography is a pending task. The appearance of numerous internal and external challenges to the erudite doxa, reconstructive of what it really was and maintained at a distance from the object, have not transformed the epistemological core of “historical science”. The writing of Tununa Mercado in her work I never promised you eternity is the instance chosen to open the horizon of a relationship with the historical experience alien to the premises of autonomy and objectivity typical of the dominant historiography in university production. Walter Benjamin's reflection provides skillful elements to anticipate features of such a horizon, which is not external to the materiality of the writing typical of Tununa Mercado's texts.
