The objective of the work is to give an approximation on the handling of official information of the COVID-19, about the reality that the population of Atotonilco lives,a locality belonging to the municipality of Tlaxco that acquired the distinctive magical town in 2015 granted by the Ministry of Tourism of the Federal Government in Mexico. The method used was a mixed one, public data repositories and periodic reports of epidemiological behavior was used, interviews was made with seven people from the locality taking the mortality variable as the axis; and, with the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), the spatial distribution of deaths was mapped. among the main results, it was found that at the global, national, state and municipal levels, the average number of deaths per 1000 inhabitants is 0,08; 0,32; 0,43 and 0,25 respectively; while in Atotonilco is 7,45, which is explained by the high pendular mobility to the Central de Abastos in Mexico City. Faced with this negative infodemic that feeds the fear, misinformation, manipulation and questionable handling of data, a model of the site's security community panels is suggested; meanwhile it is necessary to answer, ¿is it that in addition to the virus, we are facing to another hidden enemy?
