Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The contribution is original and unpublished, and is not being evaluated for publication by another journal; otherwise, it must be justified in "Comments to the Editor".
  • The text follows the style standards and bibliographic requirements described in the Guidelines for Authors, located below.
  • Master's degree is the minimum qualification for the first author of the article for evaluation. Authors must provide information about their qualifications, institutional affiliation and ORCID. To register authors in Orcid, access https://orcid.org/.
  • Submission Fee: Economics and Public Policies Journal does not charge authors any type of submission or publication fee
  • By submitting their work for review, the author(s) automatically assign the publication rights to the Journal, in its electronic version, licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) License https://creativecommons.org/.

Author Guidelines

General information
 
The Journal ECONOMIA E POLÍTICAS PÚBLICAS proposes to publish unpublished works in the area of economics, economic history and public policies, in Portuguese, Spanish, English and French, by authors from UNIMONTES or other Institutions in the form of:
  • articles;
  • reviews (will only be accepted when there is a review, a translation, a communication and an interview in each edition);
  • translations of recent articles (within 2 years of first publication), of relevant interest and accompanied by authorization from the author(s) and the magazine in which it was originally published; It is
  • communications.
 
Presentation of originals
 
Works must be submitted to the Unimontes Periodicals Portal, in two files, with only one of them showing the identification of the author(s); presented in 12 point font, Times New Roman font, 1.5 spacing, A4 sheet, 2.5 cm margins, version Word for Windows 7.0 or lower, fifteen to twenty pages for articles and translations, up to five for reviews, and three for communications.
 
The Journal accepts contributions on a continuous basis.
 
Work structure
 
Articles and translations must comply with the following sequence:
 
  • Title (in Portuguese and English, in addition to the language of the article when it is not in one of these);
  • Author's name (only in the file with author identification) - must appear on the right of the page, accompanied by the author's academic references informed in a footnote. Identify authors starting with: (a) highest degree and University where they obtained it; and (b) professional - if any - or academic affiliation, including the name of the institution, city, state and country.
  • Submit the file without identifying the authors for double-blind evaluation.
  • abstract of a maximum of 200 words - required in three languages, necessarily Portuguese and English, and another of your choice (preferably Spanish);
  • Keywords/Keyword/Palabras clave;
  • Abstract/Resumen;
  • Text - use the author-date system for citations, as well as references to authors, in accordance with current ABNT standards;
  • Textual citation (if any) - up to three lines must be placed in the body of the text between quotation marks; with more than three lines, they must be highlighted from the text, in single space;
  • Footnotes (if any) - must be placed at the bottom of the page. References to the footer must be made by numbers, in the upper line;
  • Tables, graphs and figures (if any) - must be numbered consecutively, headed by title and contain a caption stating the source;
  • Mathematical formulas, when essential, must be typed in the text itself and numbered sequentially.
  • Bibliographic References - only those that appear in the body of the text, in accordance with ABNT standards/latest version.
 
Reviews and communications do not require summaries and keywords.
 
Note: Work submitted outside of the rules or without proofreading in Portuguese (author's responsibility) will not be analyzed.
 
From the publication
 
The texts submitted for publication will be evaluated by anonymous reviewers: members of the Advisory Board and professors from the teaching staff of UNIMONTES or another University Institution (specialist in the topic proposed by the article, as long as they are not its author), invited for this purpose.
 
The texts will be returned to the authors if any changes are necessary. In such cases, the final work must be submitted again to the Portal, in accordance with the rules previously informed. The Editorial Committee, based on the opinions received, will select the works that will be published.
 
Selection Criteria
 
  • Choice of theme, in the case of thematic editions;
  • Relevance of the topic;
  • Coherence of the article.
