Abstract

The aim of this study is to estimate the long-term elasticity of granting free credit to individuals in family consumption. Using quarterly data for the period between the second quarter of 2011 and the second quarter of 2023 in relation to the variables granting credit to individuals, household consumption and real wages, the results obtained from the estimation of a dynamic econometric model indicate that this elasticity is 0.2778, so that a 1% increase in the granting of free credit to individuals results in an increase of 0.28 % of household consumption, approximately.
