The present article is a re-reading of the work Jesús, hombre en conflicto by Carlos Bravo.
It intends to demonstrate that this Mexican Jesuit develops the Latin American specificity of reading
the Bible, the biblical reading of liberation. It points out Carlos Bravo's method, in his approach about
Jesus, considering his historical practice as the generator of the narrated and normative practices. He
concludes that the reading of Carlos Bravo places Jesus as an existential icon, prophetic and ethical in
such a way that before any person is the path to full human fulfillment.
