Abstract

The purpose of this communication is to focus on the analysis of social vulnerability in
public space for people with special needs, ie, individuals who have a disability that
imposes severe difficulty in walking and using the benefit of free public municipal
public transportation. There are currently, in Montes Claros (MG), four categories of
recipients of the generosity of the local public transportation system. They are: the
elderly, those over 60 years, municipal tax, students entitled to half-pass, and finally,
people with special needs temporary or definitive, family income, per capita, equal to or
less minimum wage. It is estimated that the total number of users that are part of the
category to be examined of 6,445 people. Thus, we intend to demonstrate, in general,
who are the beneficiaries of the system of free public bus transportation in Montes
