A NATIONAL SOLID WASTE POLICY AND GRADUATIONEDUCATION: A Comparative Study between the Bachelor ofManagement Courses and Technologist

The National Solid Waste Policy (PNRS) aims to standardize, give guidelines, goals and actions
for the integrated management of solid waste, which should be put into practice by professionals
working in various private, public and also by civil society. Thus, it is of utmost necessity that
future managers are aware of the content front the requirements of PNRS, its environmental
responsibilities nature and its tendency to sustainability. Therefore, this paper aims to conduct a
comparative study between two undergraduate courses of business management area in BA
modalities and technologist, identifying the level of knowledge of future professionals regarding
PNRS, social responsibility and sustainability. Therefore, the methodological procedures used
are: literature and exploratory character field and quantitative and qualitative analysis. This study
is justified by the subject of visibility today, as well as the need for a systemic view by the
students in their training so that they can act efficiently in the organizational context. The survey
was conducted in November 2013 with 44 graduates of bachelor's and technologist courses, the
first in a private institution in the city of Sertaozinho-SP and the second in a public institution in
the city of Franca, Brazil; and today are already working in the labor market. Thus it was possible
to verify the degree of knowledge of the respondents in relation to their understanding of
environmental responsibility, sustainability and PNRS.
