Abstract

Seeking to be and instrument for clarification of historical facts determining the
publishing of a few laws related to Brazilian agrarian issue, this work, after brief historical
retrieve, focuses on the study of law 4.504/64 (Land Statute) and the complementary law
76/93 (Expropriation with destiny to Agrarian Reform). Using bibliographic research, as
well as dialectics as an approach method, one sought to show thal such laws are the result
of social-political situations marked by intense popular mobilization along history. Thus,
this work seeks to be, above all, an incentive to social movements that fight for Lan
Reform and the operators of law who seek the construction of critical perspectives on
law.
