From pre-university entrance exam to university — social inclusion policy: the example of the UENF Pre-Vest in Campos dos Goytacazes in the light of the city's centrality in the context of higher education in the North Fluminense
Abstract
In Brazil, social pre-university courses are part of collective initiatives for the democratization of education in the country and access to Higher Education. Despite the significant growth of these courses in the country, we still have little information on the subject and therefore the importance of studying this policy of social inclusion. In this article we try to discuss the importance of the Pre-Vest UENF as a pre-university entrance exam in the municipality of Campos dos Goytacazes, which is a centrality of higher education in the Northern Fluminense Region. As methodology, interviews were conducted with former students who went through the pre-college course, in addition to talking with authors with a great impact on the educational context in the country.
Keywords: Social inclusion. Higher education. Centrality.
