Correlations between physical activity, body mass index, self-perception of body image and health status of elementary school students II

This study aimed to evaluate the teaching, between body image, physical activity practice, students' body knowledge and fundamental health status II. This is a cross-sectional and approved study. Data collection was performed through google forms. The form consisted of questions related to the sociodemographic profile, physical activity, self-perception of body image and health status. Spearman's ρ determination test was used. The significance level adopted was p<0.05. A total of 287 students participated in the study, with a mean age of 12.99 SD±1.28, of which 60.3% (n=173) were female and 39.7% (n=114) were male. It was observed that the students practice an average of 57.85 minutes of daily physical activities, being 34.8% overweight and/or obese, 65.5% dissatisfied with their body image and 31.0% have a self-perception of their state of health. They were identified as suspect and significant between the practice of physical activity and the self-perception of the State of physical activity, p=0.000). While body image and self-perception do not present significant correlations. It is concluded that the practice of physical activity is correlated with the self-perception of poor health status, and not with the body mass index and dissatisfaction with the body image of elementary school students.
