HÁBITOS DE VIDA DE ESCOLARES DA REDE PÚBLICA E PRIVADA DE JOAÍMA, MINAS GERAIS, E QUE PODEM SER FATORES DE RISCO PARA O DESENVOLVIMENTO DA OBESIDADE

Abstract

This objective was to evaluate the lifestyle habits of students from public and private schools in Joaíma, Minas Gerais, which can trigger obesity. This is an analytical, cross-sectional and quantitative study, carried out in the city of Joaíma/MG, Brazil, from October to December 2021. The students invited to participate in the study, whose parents consented to participate in the study, had previously, the Free and Informed Assent Term (TALE) signed by the parents or guardians, and after the assent, the students answered a questionnaire prepared by the researchers themselves. Sixty students participated in the study, 53.3% of whom were male. It was observed in the study that 80% of students are not satisfied with their bodies and feel obese. It was also observed the presence of factors that contribute for these children to develop obesity. In this context, it is recommended that educational actions be developed in the school environment for children and families, so that obesity can be prevented.
