ANXIETY AMONG PHYSICAL EDUCATION PROFESSIONALS IN TIMES OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Abstract

The World Health Organization revealed that anxiety has had a very large increase in recent times in relation to the Brazilian population, leaving the country in the ranking of those with the most people who have developed this disorder. The present study aimed to analyze the prevalence of anxiety in school Physical Education professionals during the period of the Covid-19 pandemic. For this, a descriptive research was carried out, with a quantitative, comparative and transversal approach. The sample consisted of 21 Physical Education teachers, both sexes, aged 18 years or older, randomly selected and submitted to the Beck Anxiety Inventory. The results showed that all evaluated has some level of anxiety, whether moderate or severe. In the end, it was possible to infer that the levels of anxiety were very alarming, with a latent need to go deeper to diagnose causes and possible treatments.
