Abstract

Dance is one of the first languages ​​in the world. Through it, human beings develop critical and reflective awareness of the context in which they are inserted, providing self-knowledge and knowledge about the other. Dance can be worked in different spaces, reaching different audiences, the school being one of these places. Especially through Physical Education classes, students have the opportunity to learn about movements and improve their skills. In this sense, this work seeks to understand the importance of dance in the early years of elementary school. In this age group, dance provides children with better possibilities for motor development, coordination and physical conditioning, in addition to acting in the psychological sphere. Therefore, a bibliographic research will be carried out to understand the benefits of dance for students in the early years of elementary school. Its results aim to contribute so that Education professionals and managers can plan strategies making dance part of the daily school life.
