ABSTRACT
The burnout syndrome is a stress disease that reaches mainly professionals who work in professions that have a higher responsibility for the other. The present study sought to evaluate the Burnout Syndrome in Professors of Physical Education from the city of Montes Claros-MG who have educational planning in exercise of teaching profession and who does not. The sample was composed by 18 professors, 9 men and 9 women. It was used the questionnaire Maslach Burnout Inventory – MBI. It was realized descriptive analysis with utilization of average and standard deviation in comparison of t test for independent samples and One-way ANOVA. In descriptive analysis, the teachers investigated were in initial phase of syndrome. In comparison, it was not found significant differences in independent variables: sex, number of positions, experience time, functional situation and qualification. Although it was not found significant difference, new studies must be realized, since the averages presented suggest that these variables can influence in BS in different contexts.
