PERFIL DOS ESTUDOS SOBRE A ANALGESIA COM O LASER DE BAIXA INTENSIDADE NA CLÍNICA ODONTOLÓGICA: REVISÃO SISTEMATIZADA DA LITERATURA

O objetivo deste trabalho foi traçar o perfil dos estudos entre as diversas especialidades clínicas
odontológicas, quantificando a produção científica acerca do tema nas especialidades, bem como mostrando as principais indicações clínicas do laser terapêutico para o Cirurgião-Dentista.Foi realizada uma revisão
sistematizada de artigos científicos publicados sobre o estudo da terapia a laser de baixa intensidade com
finalidade analgésica na clínica odontológica.A busca envolveu as seguintes bases de dados: BIREME,
Cochrane Library, LILACS, PubMed/Medline e SciELO. O período de busca compreendeu os anos entre
1992 e 2012. Houve prevalência para investigações clínicas (84,1%), seguido por revisões simples (10,8%)
e revisões sistemáticas (5,1%). As especialidades com maior expressão de publicações foram a Estomatologia (36,3%) e a especialidade da Disfunção Temporomandibular(24,8%).Com base na busca realizada,
ficou evidente que houve um significante avanço no uso da laserterapia na clínica odontológica. Os estudos
publicados na área indicam que o laser de baixa intensidade pode apresentar efeitos clínicos favoráveis aos
pacientes, fundamentando a sua utilização por partedo Cirurgião-Dentista.
