Objective: to evaluate the quality of life among adolescents. Method: a simple random probability sample was designed by clusters, stratified (index ages 12 and 15 years), considering the universe of adolescents from public schools in the urban area of Montes Claros in 2019/2020. For sample calculations, the following parameters were considered: p=0.5; 1-p=0.5; Z=1.96; e=0.05; TNR=0.10; deff=1.40; N=4036 for 12 years; and N=4118 for 15 years. Socioeconomic and demographic assessment instruments were applied, as well as the questionnaire for the Protection and Promotion of Health-Related Quality of Life in Children and Adolescents (KIDSCREEN). Results: among the 653 guests, 640 accepted (TR=98%). Most were female and self-declared brown color/race/ethnicity. There was a predominance of positive results for the quality of life of students in most of its dimensions. However, less than half reported being in good physical shape and exercising. Conclusion: the investigation pointed out that the majority of adolescents interviewed have positive aspects towards their self-perceived well-being. There is a need to maintain the support offered to adolescents by those responsible, educators and the entire school community, in addition to measures that aim to avoid the increase of negative indicators regarding the well-being of adolescents.
