Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus is the main ectoparasite of cattle in tropical regions and the constant use of synthetic acaricides has favored the selection of multiresistant strains. The use of plant extracts in the control of this parasite has been shown to be an alternative in the control. In this sense, the objective of this work was to evaluate the effects of ethanol extract extracted from leaves of Mauritia flexuosa and Mauritiella armata in engorged females and larvae of R. microplus. The reproductive parameters of engorged females of the tick were evaluated by the biocarrapaticidogram method and larvae mortality by the larvae bundle test (LPT). The chemical composition of the extract evaluated by gas chromatography with electron impact ionization detector. The ethanol extract of both palms at the concentration of 75 mg ml-1 were efficient in reducing larval hatchability with superior acaricide efficacy 85%. Regarding larvae mortality, a percentage higher than 20% and 40% at concentrations of 50, 75 and 100 mg ml-1 in the ethanolextract of M. flexuosa and M. armata, respectively, was observed. Catechins were identified in both palmtrees by chromatography, a bioactive compound indicated in the control of parasitosis.
