Organización de salud alfabetizada: una revisión narrativa

Resumen

Objetivos: analizar las Organizaciones Alfabetizadas en Salud en cuanto a su concepto, atributos, barreras y facilitadores para su implementación, así como evaluar su implementación desde una perspectiva colectiva. Métodos: se realizó una revisión narrativa. La búsqueda bibliográfica se realizó en la base de datos PubMed, en julio de 2022, con las palabras clave: Organización y Alfabetización en Salud, siendo complementada con otras publicaciones que abordaban el tema y no fueron identificadas en las búsquedas. La selección y análisis de las publicaciones se realizó en cuatro etapas. Resultados: se consideraron 312 publicaciones, se leyeron 75 estudios completos y se incluyeron y analizaron 20 estudios. Conclusiones: Diez atributos rigen las Organizaciones Alfabetizadas en Salud. El bajo conocimiento de la alfabetización en salud es una barrera importante para la implementación de Organizaciones de Alfabetización en Salud, mientras que mejorar la calidad de la atención médica y reducir los costos asociados son facilitadores de este proceso. Para la implementación de Organizaciones de Salud Alfabetizadas desde una perspectiva colectiva, es necesaria la participación conjunta de los profesionales de la salud y de toda la comunidad. Finalmente, la escasez de estudios sobre el tema presentado apunta para la necesidad de más investigaciones, con el fin de impulsar cambios organizacionales relacionados con la alfabetización en salud.
