This article brings the transcription of the statement of Ariovaldo Umbelino de Oliveira, Senior Professor at the Faculty of Philosophy, Literature and Human Sciences of the University of São Paulo, for an episode of the webseries Leituras Brasileiras. As part of the series' proposal, the professor presents an introductory synthesis of his thoughts, resulting in a 22-minute video. The statement has four main blocks: first, a presentation of the theoretical foundations on which the professor's thought is based, and then a presentation of his approach to the peasantry in Brazil. Next, he makes a brief discussion about land conflicts in Brazil and ends his speech with the theme of land property in Brazil.
