NURSERY EYELASHES OF THE EARTH: promoting the reactivation of the production of native seedlings, fruit and vegetables in the semi-arid region of Minas Gerais

Abstract

The Landless Rural Workers Movement (MST) has been developing in some regions of the state of Minas Gerais in areas of settlements the implementation of seedling nurseries, which is part of the agroforestry sowing project, which aims to organize nurseries for production, planting and distribution of seedlings that subsidize the reforestation of degraded areas, linked to the project Recovering Degraded Areas in Agrarian Reform Settlements (RADAR) within the context of the Plantando Futuro Project of the Minas Gerais Economic Development Company (CODEMGE), also linked to the project “Implementation of Agroforestry Systems in agrarian reform areas as a strategy for the recovery of degraded areas” with funding from Companhia Energética de Minas Gerais (CEMIG). In this sense, in the city of Montes Claros-MG, in the Estrela do Norte settlement, the “Cílios da Terra” seedling nursery was implemented in 2016 in the area of ​​the Décio Ezequias Training Center of the MST.
